Welcome to The Ashcroft

As many of you will know, the future of the Ashcroft has been uncertain as a review of the County Council’s Arts Centres has been carried out. The result of the review of the Ashcroft is as follow:

Findings in an independent options review carried out on the Ashcroft show that the centre is run extremely effectively, balancing financial and artistic priorities to achieve an excellent return on investment made by Hampshire County Council.

Funds will therefore be made available for a minimum of another three financial years to allow the Ashcroft to continue to operate while the County Council and its partners investigate alternative models, thus enabling Hampshire County Council to look to reduce its funding in future years.

There will be further consultation with the users of the Ashcroft and other stakeholders as the options are developed.

Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage, Councillor Margaret Snaith, said: “The options review reinforces our view that the Ashcroft Arts Centre is indeed an excellent investment.

We will be working hard with our partners to enable the Ashcroft Centre to build on its success to create an even brighter future for the centre and its loyal followers.”
