Katie Doherty and The Navigators
Katie Doherty formed the Navigators in 2018. Their power and dynamic is often described as much bigger than its component parts. Katie’s songs hang on the precipice of the current state of the world. There is enormous heart filled hope but there is much riding on where we go from here. The songs paint sweeping pictures and intricate portraits of NHS Workers, Musicians, Teachers, Artists, Protesters and Parents. They are rooted in a craggy North East landscape looking outwards across the sea, with a telescopic lens pointing firmly up, out and forward to the best future possible. Listen for echos of Regina Spektor, Nancy Kerr, Guy Garvey and Anais Mitchell, all of whose influence can be found within the sound of FLOW. The music exudes heart, warmth and melody which leaves you feeling uplifted and welcomed.

Their new album FLOW produced by Mattie Foulds (Karine Polwart, Rachel Newton, Adam Holmes and The Embers) is due for release Summer 2022. Their 2019 album And Then led them to live sessions on BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe Show and BBC Radio 3 In-Tune. They toured nationally taking in Sage Gateshead, Cambridge Folk Festival, Manchester Folk Festival and Cheltenham Festival to name a few.

With support from Dielle and Chris Wood

Inspired by the songwriting greats like Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan, DiElle and Chris Wood love a bit of harmony singing and a good gossip. Chris will share stories from being on the road with artists like Shakin Stevens and The Spice Girls. The duo also love comedy and have a couple of funny songs to share - one about a fridge and one about a beloved pet. Enjoy a candid performance with DiElle and Chris, original music and classic singalong numbers. This duo will entertain those who love a singalong and a spot of gossip. Bring your own juicy stories to share with the group.
