In this workshop you will learn all the basics of drypoint etching! Taught by printmaker and educator Georgia de Buriatte.

This is a technique where a needle is used to scratch the surface of plastic into an illustration (don't worry, you can trace!), before rubbing ink in and printing.

The workshop will start will some basic mark and pattern making, to get you into the swing of using drypoint tools. We will then move on to illustrating whatever you like to print!

Don't worry if you aren't sure, there will be plenty of books and examples for inspiration, from Georgia's personal collection.

We will end by printing out etchings, using both a printing press, and a simpler method that you can replicate at home! We will also be exploring single, and multicolour printing.

Perfect for printing cards, general artwork, and much more. Materials including paper and cards will be supplied, but do feel free to bring anything you'd like to print on!
