Hollie Rogers is a singer, songwriter and guitarist whose live shows consistently receive outstanding reviews. She receives regular BBC airplay, has opened for the likes of KT Tunstall and Suzanne Vega, played high-profile festivals including Glastonbury, and performed live on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour.
Her new album, Criminal Heart, features a track produced by 4-time Grammy-nominated James McMillan, alongside collaborations with US guitar legend Robben Ford (guitarist for Joni Mitchell, Miles Davis) and UK chart-topper Jamie Lawson.
Known for the candid and confessional nature of her songs and for live performances that make audiences both laugh and cry, this is an opportunity to see Hollie perform tracks from the new record in an intimate acoustic setting with guitar and piano. You can even expect a bit of new material, too!
A magnificent & powerful voice
Suzanne Vega
Reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and Carole King. Amazing
Nick Mason (Pink Floyd)
With support from Jana Varga
Besides classical music, Jana cites folk influences such as Janis Ian and James Taylor, jazz and fusion. Her sense of harmony and melody comes from building on tradition while constantly looking for surprise and disrupting musical expectations. Having to ‘settle’ down in several countries throughout her life, her lyrics often reflect struggles and challenges when starting from zero in a new environment, creating new bonds and finding a community to belong to.
It’s wonderful. One of the classiest records I’ve heard all year.
