The teen workshop is intended to help you fix fast fashion, by learning how to recycle old clothing into a backpack. It is the perfect opportunity to learn the basics of sewing to build confidence and develop design skills.
By the end of the session you'll be able to identify different sewing techniques, tools and materials, such as sewing machines, fabrics, threads and cord and to follow a pattern and plan your own backpack.
This workshop is intended for young people aged 14-17 years, all levels of ability are welcome, beginners or initiated sewists and textile artists who want to be introduced, refresh or improve their stitching and textile abilities in different techniques.
What you will need: For this session you will need to bring along some old clothing to practice recycling techniques (you will be given a detailed list when enrolling). All other equipment is provided.
