You will explore the concepts of 3D felt to make your own unique pair of felted slippers using the wet felting technique. Sarah is an experienced, international felt tutor who will teach you the skills to create a pair of slippers. You will be able to make any size to suit and will focus on measuring, design and colour mixing of the fibres. Various ways of finishing/adding of soles will be discussed and Sarah will have leather if you wish to purchase as an extra, if you wish (cash/card).
Sarah will be there to guide you through each of the processes and will take time to discuss your individual ideas and to develop your skills.
This workshop is suitable for beginners or experienced feltmakers but please be aware that this is a fast-paced day and there will be a fair amount of physical work required, if you wish to finish your slippers in the time provided.
All tuition, notes and use of equipment, materials (except leather).
Students will need to bring:

2 plastic bags (without holes!) to put over your feet

Sarah is a textile artist with a passion for feltmaking that originates from her love of sheep. Living in the New Forest her work reflects her desire to connect with nature and the importance of sustainability.
The work she produces is not only functional but has colour, texture and tactile qualities. Using both traditional and innovative techniques she aims to show the diversity and qualities feltmaking can be taken to and pushes the boundaries with her work. Sarah is the regional coordinator of the International Feltmakers Association and also a selected member of the Society of Designer Craftsman. She currently runs her own textiles business teaching, exhibiting in the UK and internationally and selling her work though galleries and online.
