About Artist:
I am Sue, an artist based in the South of England and Central Italy, specialising in portraits. I have always had a love of painting. My passion for watercolour started when I moved to Italy in 2013 and enrolled on a watercolour course. I was immediately hooked! Watercolour is such a beautiful and rich medium – you can create a photographic likeness, unleash the unpredictability of the medium to create stunning impressionistic pieces or anything in between. I was soon drawn to painting both animals and people, relishing the challenge of being able to capture not just a likeness but the personality and character too. It was also the perfect excuse to get out and about to discover the local Italian villages as friends and I would meet every Wednesday to do some urban sketching or to paint landscapes.
