During this two hour session, we will be exploring the craft of Hard Cover Bookbinding. Taking a look into the history of artists books themselves, and the ways in which creatives might use books other than as traditional sketchbooks, this session is perfect for kickstarting your creative practice, or digging into something new!
In the session you will learn the basic terms and techniques of hardcover bookbinding, ensuring it is something you can continue after if interested!
We will focus on making a Hard Cover Saddle Bound Book, which can be used for sketch-booking, gifting, or even a very fancy shopping list.
All materials and tools including papers will be supplied. However please do feel free to bring along some papers to include if you have some. In fact this is encouraged as it makes it more tailored to you! When covering our books we will have plain coloured paper, but things like wrapping paper, fabric, maps, etc can be brought along for that extra touch if you'd like!
