Learn some fast, funky moves at home in this high energy street dance class inspired by Urban Street Dance and Hip Hop.

Street dance tutor Jasmine, from Ashcroft Arts Centre, creates fun and engaging warmups and routines to learn and practice at home. In spectacular street dance you will be warming up and stretching your bodies to prepare for dance and improving your strength and flexibility. You will learn three different routines in these six weeks' worth of classes and there will also be a new fun challenge set each week.

Designed for primary school children.

You will be able to re-watch and access these videos as many times as you like until the end of July.

What you need: Adequate space to move around, all trip hazards but be removed from your dance area. Please wear none restrictive clothing and suitable footwear (such as trainers) and ensure you have a bottle of water.

Tutor: Jasmine

Jasmine is a dancer and dance coach with a BA(Hons) dance degree from Kingston University. Jasmine has trained at studio 68 in London and performed at various events. She has danced at various hip hop events, for example, Breakin' Convention and World HipHop championships in 2017, plus 'In the Willows' the musical at the New Theatre Royal. As well as these events Jasmine also enjoys teaching and teaches in many different primary schools.

Class access information

This class is delivered using pre-recorded video content that is available to you on demand, at a time that suits you. You will have access to these resources from the week of 18 May 2020 until 31 July 2020. If you are booking prior to the week of 18 May you will be notified via email when this content is available. If you are booking after the week of 18 May you will have access to this content straight away.

This class is designed to be progressive, with each videos following on from the last, helping to build your experience over the course of the class. There are six videos in total, each running for approximately 30mins each.

To access your class content you will need a device with an internet connection and speakers – a computer, laptop, phone or tablet should do the job. The content will be hosted on a private webpage. We will email you a link to the webpage to give you access, so please make sure your email address is correct at time of booking. An optional private Facebook group has also been set up for participants in this class to give you somewhere to talk to each other and share your work. Details of this group will also be sent to you via email.
