Friday Headline – Black Kat Boppers

Hot boppin, groovin’ 4 piece group playing rockin, roots music with a guitar, double bass and stand-up drums!

Black Kat Boppers hail from down on the South Coast Water Way in Southampton and are 4 fellas who love to play hard boppin’, jump up, rockin’ blues, dance music.

“With The Black Kat Boppers you get to immerse yourselves in that rockin’ feelin’.  Think of us as ‘rockin the blues’ if you must, cos that’s the way we roll!”

Influences include Rhythm & Blues, Jump & Jive, Ska, Doo-Wop with a lucky energy.  Collectively, when all brought together, Black Kat Boppers sound is raw, authentic, sincere & unique.

Black Kat Boppers formed after some chance meetings, speculative phone calls and a little bit of fate.  A shared love for rockin’ roots music was clear and they haven’t looked back since.  There’s been triumphant performances at Glastonbury many times, Port Eliot, Bestival and Hyde Park (with Blur & The Specials).  They’ve rocked Notting Hill Carnival, Rockabilly Rave Latitude & Viva Las Vegas, not to mention performing a memorable set with Florence and The Machine at Bob Geldof’s 60th birthday party.  They’ve been joined on stage by Damon Albarn as well as working with him in the studio and have regularly had Clash legend Paul Simonon playing with the band.  Paul Simonon, who has been a great support to them, also appears on their debut album “Boppin Atcha” and has done the sleeve artwork.

Friday Support – Jack & Bas

Jack Dale has established himself as a songwriter, singer and guitarist over many years of being a musician in Southampton, England. His style is a blend of folk and blues influences like Kelly Joe Phelps, Nick Drake, John Martyn and Charlie Parr.

Jack is also a teacher in a college in Southampton, teaching music performance and production. He is currently working on exciting new music with Double Bass maestro; Bastien Terraz. Bastien Terraz is a freelance bass player and teacher based in Southampton. Classically trained, Bastien studied Music at University and started his career as a jazz bassist, before branching out to perform with a host of performers and bands over the course of the last 20+ years.

Together Jack and Bas have written and recorded their debut LP; Youngest Son, through file sharing and home recording during lockdown. An amazing achievement. They now regularly perform live as a duo, playing in many venues and festivals in and around Southampton, including The Joiners, The Stage Door, Belgium & Blues, The New Forest Folk Festival and Wickham Festival.

Saturday Afternoon Headline – Leonardo Giuliani

United Kingdom-based Leonardo Giuliani is an independent musician, guitar player, and singer-songwriter, crafting music influenced by Rock, Blues, Country, and Folk. His dedication to music is a commitment to keeping it organic, honest, and meaningful, with the goal of evoking the same emotions in others that music brings him.

Giuliani had the extraordinary honor of being invited to sit in with Buddy Guy at his Legends club in Chicago, a significant moment influenced by his love for Blues and admiration for guitar icon Buddy Guy.

Leonardo Giuliani's sound is deeply rooted in the artists and bands from the late '60s and '70s. His music draws inspiration from acoustic singer-songwriters to electric jam bands, all of whom created unique performances every night.

Saturday Afternoon Support – Laurence Henderson

Quoted by Eric Gales as 'the band that rocks out super hard'.

Laurence Henderson carries the flame for classic, guitar-driven blues-rock. The son of an orchestral double bassist and a violin teacher, Laurence was honing his musical skills from birth and would go on to discover the likes of Joe Bonamassa, Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, Eric Johnson and Sting.

In 2016 Laurence had graduated from university and set about starting his journey as a professional musician. In August of the same year he released his cover of Eric Johnson's legendary 'Cliffs of Dover' gaining well over 1 million views whilst receiving critical acclaim across the globe.

Having been a hired session musician for the likes of Arielle on her UK tour, Laurence is now bringing his own music to the world with his own modern twist on classic blues, country and rock. This is showcased by early releases such as ‘Strings’, ‘I Won’t Wait’ and the upcoming ‘Where I Belong’.

After opening for Kris Barras, Laurence sold out his first headline show in Southampton which in turn has lead to endorsement deals from effect pedal companies: Wampler & Strymon. Laurence continues to produce a gripping show in order to expand and grow his audience both in the UK and worldwide.

Saturday Evening Headline – Ragwormers

The Ragwormers have been playing together since before lockdown but that put a halt to their plans for world domination. After the success of Ragcity 3, their three day music festival in the New Forest, and a summer full of gigs, the band are ready to take the party across the country. They write and perform their own tracks, which owe a debt to indie rock, ska, blues and a bit of dance too, along with a few well chosen covers. 2024 is going to be massive so get ready for the Rag party.

Saturday Evening Support – Bob Rats

Bob Rats are a 5-piece punk/ska band from Southampton. Formally known as The Bobonboboffs, Bob Rats have a ripping energy and a sound for the heartiest of skankers.

Formed in 2020 featuring Frankie Duarte on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Timothy Beckett on bass and backing vocals, Jacob Smallwood on trombone, Ben Cox on keys and Christian Astridge on drums.  Having played sold out shows across the south coast, BOB RATS are set to release their 4 track E.P "Living off nothin" in the summer of 2024, first releasing their track "Keep moving on" in April.

The Rats music is a new blend of past and modern sound that will not pass your ears without staying.
